Dear Ms. Brown:
I read with sadness and a bit of nostalgia regarding your article about the Mukai historical site in The North American Post’s July 11 edition.
As a former close friend of the islander Otsuka family, having visited the island many times, even picking berries at the farm with my three girls to teach them the value of money, which I learned from my days of picking berries. I cannot help feeling my past connections with Vashon.
Also, I feel a sense of gratitude to the three islanders who took the responsibility to perpetuate the Mukai legacy.
I thank the North American Post for the historical and invaluable story.
